The Summer Territory

"So that's it is it?" Drake smiled, understanding her a little better now. "I'm sure I'll figure out what will make you smile. It's my speciality." Drake sat in front of Katria and made a silly face, tilting his head to the side and filling his cheeks with air and widening his eyes. He pawed her shoulder gently, attempting to make her laugh.

"But that was a classic!" Drake said sadly, following her. 'I've got my work cute out for me' he thought, relishing the thought of a challenge. "I will get you to smile." He walked around her, smiling cheekily. He stopped after going around her twice and whispered in her ear, "All beautiful fae's love smiling."

Kanae nuzzled Josh affectionately before she pulled herself away from the male. She would speak with him later. The alphess followed Katria and Drake into the forest and stopped a few feet away. So, the new male was trying to get the beautiful fae to smile. Well, Kanae knew that such a feat would be difficult since Katria was a Guardian and wolves of that rank tend not to trust that easily.

"Hey Kat!" Kanae said warmly as she sat down and she nuzzled her friend. She looked at the Healer Apprentice. "Hi, Drake!"

Katria shrugged. "I honestly don't care how I look. If not smiling makes me ugly, then so be it." She said. She put confidence in her words, because they were true. Her tail curled around her paws. It'd take a lot more effort than that. She flicked her ears as she got up, walked a few feet, and sat down. She saw Kanae, and said, "Hello, Kanae." It wouldn't just be her friend to make her smile.

Flame walked out from behind blue and saw Katria and the new guy, drake was it? Flame notised the he was trying to make the fae smile "good luck" flame thought remembering the gruff personality of the fae who let her into the pack. Flame wanted to join them but thoughts of her and blue's dreams where plagueing her mind stealing away any bit of happyness in her heart. She thought "are soothsayers always serious?" Flame filcked her ears really she dident care! As for the dreams she pushed them to the back of her mind, all this fear and worry just wasent part of her personality! Flame happly walked up to the brute and said "hi I'm flame!!!"

Drake looked shocked at Katria, "That's not what I meant at all! You are most certainly one very beautiful fae!" He couldn't believe that he had stuffed up, it had only happened once before, and he had fixed it, so decided he would make it up to Katria, determined to get to know her better so he could make her smile.

"Hey Kat!" Kanae said warmly as she sat down and she nuzzled her friend. She looked at the Healer Apprentice. "Hi, Drake!"

"Hi Kanae, sorry I got upset before, it's just not what I was expecting." He smiled at her so she could be sure he was fine.

Flame happly walked up to the brute and said "hi I'm flame!!!"

He smiled at the new fea. "Well hello there Flame. I'm Drake. Might I say that you look stunning today? I'm sure you look amazing every day."

Flame sat down infront of the brute and playfuly flicked her tail "flattery will only got you so far you know." Flame lifted her paw and gave it a few swift licks her flame coloured pelt shimerd even the dimming light

Drake looked Flame in the eyes, "I know, but you are just so stunning I couldn't help my self but comment. I hope I'm not embarrassing you." Drake then turned his head away, but kept looking at her with a warm smile

Flame gazed back still looking playful "no probs" she held her gaze for a few more sceonds than looked back at kanae and wounderd where the rest of the pack was.

"I'm glad, because I don't know if I can help myself. I'm surrounded by amazingly stunning fae's, I won't be able to keep that to myself." He looked at each fae, waiting for them to smile back

Drake turned to Katria when she spoke and just watched her. He knew the best way to get to know someone was to watch their actions, and that was how he was going to make her smile, know what makes her happy and make it happen. He smiled to himself as he lay down.

"Hello, Kanae."

"That and you're flirting with her the completely wrong way." Kanae teased as she stood. "Allow me to teach you."

The young alphess went to stand in front of her companion and bat her eyes at the Guardian.

"Hey there." She moved forward until she was almost nose-to-nose with Katria. "I wonder if you realize that your eyes reflect the beauty of the forest around you. And that your glossy black pelt is like the darkest of nights. I'm a brute, you're a fae. Let's get together. C'mon Katria. Be my mate."

Kanae couldn't help but smile as she finished. She was mocking brutes in a way; she couldn't help herself.

Drake laughed at Kanae's impression, and was surprise to see that Katria was smiling. "So that's it? All I have to do is ask you to be my mate then? Be all cheesy, look into your eyes." Drake then looked Katria in the eyes and looked smitten. "I'm sorry what was I talking about? I've completely gotten lost in your eyes. You truly are a beautiful, I hope you believe me."

"Thank you, thank you." Kanae did a mock bow. Her eyes went back to Katria. "I'm waiting for your answer."

Her gaze went to Drake for a moment and she bristled playfully.

"Whoa there!" She puffed out her chest and stepped in between Drake and Katria. "Sorry buddy! But she's taken."

Drake smirked at Kanae, "That didn't stop you flirting with her." He looked past Kanae to see Katria. "Like I said before, I can't help myself. She's just far to beautiful not to comment on." He looked back to Kanae. "Speaking of which, you are a picture of perfection with your amazingly beautiful white coat. I've never seen anything like it."

"That's because she's mine!" Kanae said proudly as she puffed out her chest even more. She deflated quickly though since the lack of oxygen was getting to her.

The alphess' eyes widened and she stepped back. Sure she had heard others say she was pretty but never say she was the 'picture of perfection'. That was something that Katria and Blue were, not she. After all, she had so many insecurities and she was petite. Not to mention she was physically weak.

"Um.." She flattened her ears, unsure of how to reply.

"I'm sorry," Drake said, noticing that she flattened her ears which certainly wasn't a good sign. "Did I say something I shouldn't have?"

The alphess stood straight again and brought her gaze back up. She needed to show everyone that she could handle everything and anything.

Drake smiled, glad he hadn't done anything wrong. "I might flirt with all the fae's, but I would never lie. Whatever I say I mean it. I just hope you believe me."

Drake's face lit up when Katria laughed. "Yes!" He exclaimed excitedly. "You laughed because of me right?" He held himself tall, proud. "The doctor is back." She said with a smirk aimed at Katria.
