Coat Color:

Her pelt is extremely long and silky. It is very rare for it to be in any other condition because she strongly dislikes a matted coat. When she is bored, many can often find her cleaning her fur until it gleams. It is a pristine white, like the purest ivory. No other colour mixes with its beauty. In the moonlight, she gains the appearance of being a silver wolf. Sometimes, there are thoughts of her being like an ethereal spirit.

Eye Color:

A dark brown that reflects whatever she wishes to portray to the outside. It is almost impossible for others to see the soul that hides within Kanae because her eyes are like mirrors; they see out but no one can see in. Said pools of chocolate scan for vast knowledge before she makes a decision; there isn’t much that happens without her knowing of it. Cataracts can be seen in her left eye, but only if one can get close enough to her because she often hides that fact.

She is lean and obviously made for speed. She has long legs that are well muscled and smaller paws. For a wolf, she is rather petite. She stands just over two feet at the shoulder and weighs about 79 lbs.

History:

The Beginning
Kanae Blackfang had been borne to two of the greatest leaders of all time, Lance and Yvonne Blackfang. Four brothers accompanied her into this world, but one had been born dead and another had been tossed aside by Yvonne because he was far too tiny and his legs were a misshapen.

During the time of her birth, a long famine had just come to an end; her parents were just getting back into hunting. Long before Yvonne had become pregnant, the pack that had accompanied Lance for so long disbanded due to the lack of food.
By luck, prey was plentiful in the area; Kanae and her two brothers were able to be fed. However, a strange disease soon took hold of her older brother. It rendered him blind and his sense of smell completely disappeared. Eventually, the sickness took his life by devouring him inside out. He drowned in his own blood. Before dying however, a portion of the disease was passed onto Kanae. Her brother, Wes was unaffected.

Unaware of the effects of the disease she now carried, Kanae continued to live her life normally. Due to them being the last of their litter, Wes and Kanae became closer than most. When her vision began to weaken in her left eye and Wes grew older and friendlier towards lone she-wolves, that bond dissolved within a few months.

Feeling utterly alone in the pack, Kanae tried to look towards the various brutes who passed by. Not a single one caught her eye. She had just begun a slow descent into depression when she met him.

Dagger Jaggedclaw. The handsome brute with the jet-black pelt and shocking golden eyes was the son of the leaders of the Jaggedclaw pack, which had fared better than the Blackfang pack. Their territory remained rich in resources and the wolves within it remained strong. That is why Dagger left his homeland. It was completely by chance that he wandered so close to the Blackfang’s territory and so close to where Kanae had been hunting.

Their meeting was not one of grace. Both wolves had their hackles standing to their utmost extremities. The relationship began after the meeting. Dagger couldn’t shake young Kanae from his mind. Eventually, he returned to her. This time, she was far more welcoming to him since Wes had left only a few weeks before with a beautiful white she-wolf known as Isis Talonhowl, daughter of Shadow and Rayne Talonhowl.
It was then that Dagger began to court Kanae. They would often hunt together, eat together, and on more than one occasion, sleep together. It only took a few months before the duo were inseparable. Farther and farther away from the territory they travelled each day, but Kanae still had fears about starting a family of her own even though Dagger had suggested it more than once.

That all changed the day Yvonne returned with a bloody lamb between her fangs. Hunger still had a hold of the dominant female after a recent drought; she could find no other rescue than in the form of a farmer’s livestock. Fearful, they devoured the lamb quickly before moving deeper into the forest. It was hoped that the farmer whose sheep had been stolen would only find remains and nothing else.
But it was not to be.

One day, several months after the incident Yvonne went hunting alone. Kanae left also, but only to go and meet with Dagger. She planned on telling him that she truly believed that they could never be together and that she would grow old in the Blackfang pack without ever baring pups. Just before she was to tell him, a gun shot rang out with a thunderous boom. The heavy scent of blood filled the air and a shriek of pain echoed in Kanae’s ears. It only took her seconds to realize her Mother had been shot down.

Being downwind from the attack, Kanae raced to her Mother’s side. Dagger followed behind her and allowed her to lean on him when they caught sight of the carnage. The human was long gone, but he left Yvonne on the dirt, blood rushing from her veins to colour the rich green of the forest floor with a brilliant crimson.

After several moments of standing there in shock, Kanae walked towards her Mother and buried her nose in golden-brown pelt. No one other than Dagger and Kanae were there when Yvonne heaved her last breath.

With blood covering her nose and heaviness in her heart, Kanae turned from her Mother’s corpse and told Dagger she wanted to leave the territory with him. They departed immediately.

While they travelled, Kanae wondered what her Father would think when he discovered that his mate was dead and his daughter left. Those thoughts faded eventually because she became happy again. Dagger spent every moment trying to make her laugh and smile, eventually it paid off. She agreed to be his mate because it was then she realized he was the only one who truly cared about her and without him, she would be nothing.

A beautiful forested area became their home. They had no formal den; Kanae insisted that they wait before rushing into having pups. Dagger spent many of his days searching for a den because he knew that deep down in her heart, Kanae desperately wished for pups of her own. Once he was sure he had found the perfect place, he led his “angel” to it. That’s when they were shot with a tranquilizer.

The Ring
When she woke, Kanae still felt dizzy. She found that her head ached and she couldn’t move. Despite this, she knew that she was being contained. For what purpose, she was unsure. She could detect the scent of Dagger, but it was faint; she knew that his scent was only the remnants of what remained on her fur. She closed her eyes as the exhaustion overwhelmed her once again.

Waking again due to human voices, she found herself on dirt. Slowly standing upright, she glanced around. A circle of wood, about ten feet high stood above her. Just above the ring stood many humans, their eyes glittering with excitement and malice. The sweet, familiar smell of Dagger was somewhere nearby and Kanae hoped that he was safe from harm. Another scent wafted to her, one stained of fresh blood.

Before she knew it, a fairly large male pit bull was in the ring with her, his eyes gleamed when he caught sight of her. Never had he seen such a beautiful creature; he intended to make her his. To breed well was wrapped in his D.N.A because of his Mother; he had a feeling that such a gorgeous creature would be able to produce young that he would be proud of.

Dagger was released into the ring before the pit bull could get too close to Kanae. A flash of fangs and Dagger slashed at his opponent’s flesh. Angered by both the attack and the distraction from Kanae, the pit bull spun on a dime and went straight at his foe.

It appeared that Dagger was going to win for many slashes covered the dog’s skin and only one wound marred Dagger’s perfection. This was not sport to the humans however; they interfered and began to throw things at the proud wolf. Dagger turned his face upwards at the humans and snarled coldly.

His mistake.

Wasting no time as he discovered that his opponent was preoccupied, the pit bull launched himself at his foe and his fangs met in Dagger’s throat. The jet-black wolf fell to the ground with a loud thud as his life blood flowed out of him. His golden eyes sought Kanae before they dimmed forever.

“Even now he looks towards his Archangel!” Some human called and that name stuck with her.

In order to pit male dogs or wolves against one another, they would place the newly re-named Archangel in the pen. After a while, it was deemed that Archangel was to be pitted against another female. She was to fight another wolf, one with a reddish-brown pelt.

Their fight lasted for several hours. Neither competitor gaining the upper hand over the other. Blood streamed down from Archangel’s left ear because the other she-wolf had notched it. Her opponent was missing a chunk of her tail, but it mattered not to either because this match meant life or death for the loser. Little did they know, the winner would also be killed.

Eventually, Archangel gained an advantage for she had blinded her opponent and slashed the wolf’s throat with her sharp canines. Archangel was hooked up to a leash and led outside. A man stood with a pistol in his hand and aimed at the pretty she-wolf. Realizing what the weapon meant, Archangel turned and bit the leg of the man holding the leash in order to get him to release it. The second he did, she fled into the night and the Archangel was never seen again.
